Experience the festive spirit with our authentic "julbord" – a traditional Swedish Christmas buffet. Enjoy a variety of carefully selected dishes that reflect the best of Swedish holiday traditions.

White tablecloths, beautiful Christmas flower arrangements, lit candles, and a warm and cozy atmosphere. As usual, we will serve our julbord in the Manor kitchen where the chefs are on hand to talk all things about our Christmas food. Tofta Manor is situated by the sea between Marstrand and Kungälv, only half an hour by car from Gothenburg.

We wish you a warm welcome to experience good old-fashioned Swedish Christmas spirit as well as excellent food!

The restaurant is located in the manor's main building, which is heritage listed. Tofta manor and farm is family-owned and we have been arranging Christmas smorgasbord for almost 30 years now. We set the table for the guests in our three dining rooms on the ground floor. The rooms are of different sizes and offer a genuine and warm feeling.

A bit about the food:

 

Our herring and fish table is especially appreciated by our guests. As accompaniments to our delicious herring, we offer, among other things, the unsweetened egg cheese (äggost) in a traditional Bohuslän style – the sweetened version can be found on the dessert table. We also offer various varieties of smoked and cured fish. Lovely mussels and shrimps are also included on a Bohuslän Julbord, in our opinion!

Ham, pâté, and sausage are essential elements of a Swedish Christmas buffet. We particularly enjoy our game products, served with various salads, jams, and pickles.

On the manor kitchen's original, black iron stove, we present the hot dishes ranging from lutefisk to spare ribs. Our meatballs are made from beef from the manor's own organic livestock

Delicious bread of various kinds, along with tasty sauces and jams, add that little extra touch. A favorite is our crisp hardbread, baked with whey from the egg cheese production - following an old recipe right here from the manor.

To conclude the meal, we can tempt you with delicious cheeses and a delectable dessert table. Psst! Don't miss our candy cabinet filled with treats for both young and old.

The farm’s old granary Magasinet  hosts a Christmas market during 3 weekends in Advent. Experience the Christmas spirit at the manor, with crafts, gifts and Christmas food. Enjoy a cozy coffee break in the café, get inspired by all the exhibitors, maybe buy some Christmas gifts or a few holiday treats?

Julmarknad i Magasinet

Sedan över 30 år har det tre helger i advent varit julmarknad här på Tofta Herrgård. En trevlig utflykt för hela familjen.

Njut av en mysig fika i kaféet, inspireras av alla utställare, kanske köper du några julklappar, eller lite julgotter? 

2024 är det julmarknad: 30/11-1/12, 7-8/12 och 14-15/12.

A classic Bohuslän Julbord in an 18th-century setting for almost 30 years!

The restaurant is located in the manor's main building, which is a historic landmark. Tofta Manor is family-owned, and we have been arranging Julbord here for 30 years.

The first 10 years, the main building was a private residence, and the buffets were organized by the restaurateur Rolf Karlander together with Petter's parents Lillemor & Bertil Karlander. Since 2004, next generation Karlander - Petter & Karen - have been in charge of the Julbord

Many returning guests have made this an annual tradition, and every year new guests discover the charm of the Christmas atmosphere here at Tofta.

Kort julbordshistoria

Ett klassiskt bohuslänskt julbord i 1700-tals miljö i snart 30 år!

Restaurangen ligger i herrgårdens huvudbyggnad som är kulturhistoriskt minnesmärke. Tofta Herrgård är familjeägd och vi har anordnat julbord nu i snart 30 år.

De första 10 åren var huvudbyggnaden privatbostad och julborden var i regi av krögaren Rolf Karlander tillsammans med Petters föräldrar Lillemor & Bertil Karlander. Sedan 2004 har nästa generation Karlander, Petter och Karen, tagit över ansvaret för julborden.

Under dessa tre decennier har julbordet på Tofta Herrgård blivit en kär tradition för många av våra gäster. Många återkommer år efter år för att njuta av den unika atmosfären och den goda maten. Varje år välkomnar vi också nya gäster som upptäcker charmen med Toftas alldeles speciella julbord. Vår målsättning är att varje gäst ska känna sig som hemma och få uppleva ett oförglömlig julbord i en miljö fylld av värme, tradition och julglädje.
